Ok so this is my first ever bike and I got it for a hell of a steal (or so I think). I bought it from my local mechanic for $1,000, the entire engine is apart and he has a brand new bottom end rebuild and top end rebuild for it and got that for $900 (Hot rods bottom end and wiseco piston). All I have to do is buy a new head and a new intake cam and then assemble the whole thing. The exhaust cam is perfectly fine but the intake cam has deep grooves in it, the cams are Pro Circuit stage 2 cams which say 338-PC1 05-12 and 338-PC2 05-12 on them and I can't find a intake cam that seems to be the same?? So I was wondering if I could slap either a Hot Cams stage 2 intake cam into it or just get a whole stage 2 Hot Cams set and use that? I kinda would like to put stock cams in it but at the same time I dont want to mess with that and I’d have to get a new tune because the bike is fuel injected and it was tuned for stage two cams. I really don't know what is the best or most cost effective option here or what would work and what wouldn't work. I have a basic understanding of engines and stuff like that but when it comes to comparing two different brands that I've never delt with I don't know what would be the best approach. So if any of you guys know what would work or be the best option that would be great and I would appreciate it so much. And from what I'm away of the bike has tusk wheels, renthal bar, full titanium yoshimira rs-4 duplex chamber exhaust on it, possibly new brakes and suspension?? But it was definitely a hell of a deal of a bike and I'll show it what it all has (to my knowledge) whenever I get the chance!
