This may be a dumb question,  but what about the 2-stroke 85cc models?  There are a ton of them for sale locally to me that look very clean and are priced about $1k to $1100. I know they are more MX style bikes and they’re quick, but do they make good trail bikes?  Are they too small for my wife?  She’s 5’3” and probably 140lbs.
