We tried and tried but, no way no how we're we going to get this beast aboard the boat. The only thing we could do was tow it to the nearest island which, fortunately was just a few hundred yards away. We took a chain and secured that sturgeon to that island and then headed for the mainland to get a winch so we could finally get this monster on the boat. We got the winch and headed back with much excitement. We were thinking, to be sure this fish was a world record. To say the least, we were disappointed to get back and find that the island was gone.......</p></blockquote><p></p>
