Define professional?Here is some sage advice:I ran the circuit for mx as a kid. Poor, 1 bike, a cardboard box for a toolbox and it also doubled as a parts bin. I rode since I was 4, wanted to race since I was 4.5 yrs old. I raced up and down the east coast at tracks that don’t even exist anymore. These days a kid who wants to race pro starts at around 5 and travels coast to coast. Not my cup of tea. If your kid can win every local race, then go to the next state and win every race there then move forward by all means towards a national amateur title and then towards a pro career.
