Met Rob up at the planned spot early Saturday morning. The weather was perfect, and the wind was maxing out at about 3MPH, nice for a change. Gassed up and hit the trails The area we were riding isn't very popular, but if you know where to look, there are fun trails. Speedy Rob was usually 1/4 mile ahead of me, if you look hard, you can see him in the photos Done with the morning loop, we headed back to the trucks for chow and to gas up. After lunch, we decided to head east to the abandoned octogon house. Relatively flat land, sand washes, minor whoops. I was cruising along, next thing I know, the ground is heading towards me at a high rate of speed. I have no idea what I hit. After Rob helped pull the bike off me, he went back to look for a hidden rock or rut, found nothing. After the stars disappeared, we headed on, by the time we got to the abandoned house, I was really starting to hurt. Rob took the single track back to the trucks, while I rode the easy trail. It was about 1:30 by the time we got back, decided to call it a day. Other than the crash, it was a great day of riding. Rob helped me load my bike in my truck, and we split. That evening, my leg and shoulder were really hurting. Sunday morning, decided to head to the emergency ward. Nothing like having your photo taken while wearing one of those cool hospital gowns, Prognosis is a separated shoulder, some bone chipping and minor nerve damage in the leg, but nothing major or permanent, good to go in a couple of weeks. The prescribed vicodin is doing it's job :thumb:.
