Started out as a great Saturday at noon when we packed up the bike and an ATV. We drove through my county to my local track and we finally arrived. Jimmy (owner) had told me that the dirt was going to be great, and sure enough, it was. I took a few good laps around the track and started feeling pretty good. After about an hour later, I decided to clip the helmet camera to me and go out for a personal fastest lap time.
I started out the first few sections of the track pretty good. I started approaching a little-ish double that has one mean rear kick to it. I'm always a little skeptical about the jump, but I'd hit it plenty before. So I went ahead and pinned it towards the jump. From this point, the only thing that has stuck in my rattled-cage is the split second of looking back in mid-air to see the bike in my same direction pointing front fender down vertical in the air. According to my back, the bike slammed me after I hit the ground. The next part I remember is waking up and and attempting to use my right hand to support my weight and get myself off the ground. As I did that, a dull/stinging pain shot up my arm and I continued to try and get up but I couldn't. I ended up rolling over to use my other arm to at least sit me up. I turned off the helmet camera and stood up and wobbled over to my bike. I turned the bike off and stood it up with my good arm and my side. I got on and started the bike and rode off, going through the awful pain in my throttle hand/wrist. I made it about 20 feet before I was too off-balanced from the crash and laid the bike over. I picked it back up using my previous technique and rode off again. This time making it back to the truck. My Dad met me at the last turn and pushed the bike up for me.
I noticed that my vision wasn't normal after I crashed, and everything I focused on turned blurry...like my left eye wasn't playing with my right eye. I started to also feel nauseous, so we headed to the hospital. At this time, my headache was pretty bad to me, even though I have a history of chronic-like migraines as a kid. At this point, I didn't even care about my wrist and I just wanted to sleep. I started puking when I got to the hospital. I waited at that hospital for 4 hours and they had to send me to another hospital down the street because they were worried about my brain, being this my 3rd concussion in 3 years. They also wanted them to check out my wrist better. The CT scan turned out fine and I have no brain damage. They told me my wrist is fractured and threw it in a cast and later to be checked on in a week. After a total 9 hours in the hospital, they sent me home. Next day, I used my one arm to fix my clutch lever.
