No, you can get a very servicable 1911A1 like Springfield Armory for about $650.00. If you want to go high end, get a Kimber at about $950.00-$1150. They do rock! Kimbers that is.....worth the money if you want to hit targets consistently at 20 yards. Just saying...whatever you get, don't cheap out and get adjustable sights....that'l cost you more $. \
