I remember when I was still in my run around the neighborhood days all of my friends drank out of water hoses except me because I thought it was guhross But I was able to go out and about with little worry from my parents. I agree with that to an extent...Think about how much better our crime analysis has gotten. I don't believe that there were any less freaks back in the day then there was here. I think the problem is that any one of us can go online and find our local crime statistics. Seeing with your own two eyes where registered sex offenders live, how many homicides, break ins.. That can make a parent worry about their kids.
