Perfect side for a good bbq::banana::banana: Weathergeek"s baked bean casserole: 2 cans Bush's grillin' beans 1 can Bush's maple brown sugar baked beans 1 can Texas style beans 1 can Pork and Beans 1 can kidney beans 1 lb pollo asada 1 lb hamburger 8 oz. chorizo 8 oz. breakfast sausage 6-8 slices of bacon 6-8 oz. BBQ sauce of choice (something vinegar based is better) 6-8 oz. or so of mustard 1 onion chopped 1 serrano or jalapeno (optional if want heat) I do Tbl spoon of Worcestershire 2 tbl spoon of brown sugar 4-6 oz maple or pancake syrup (cheap stuff works) In a big pot, saute all the meats, onion and jalapeno and bbq or fry up the asada. Cook bacon 1/2 way. Remove bacon and set aside. In a baking dish or disposable large foil pan which makes clean up easier (like you would use for Thanksgiving), add all the cooked meats(except bacon) and the rest of the stuff together in foil pan and mix well. I also drain some of the juice from the beans so the dish is not so liquidy. Lay bacon strips on top of casserole and put in oven from 3-4 hours uncovered at 225-250 degrees. 1/2 way thru cooking, dab top of casserole to remove extra bacon grease. Guaranteed crowd pleaser and not at all hard to make. 45-60 minutes prep time
