Our bikes had the EU maps (most aggressive/richest map available besides custom tunes), were de-smogged and uncorked for the most power. Only thing we didn't have was a full pipe set up. And we still averaged 50 mpg. FI was great to me. I never experienced a single issue. I'm sure the first bikes with FI had it's issues but more popular EFI gets, the better it will become. Closest thing to a problem I had with the bike was when my key switch was acting funny at SLO.
