Don't know if they were across the nation but in SoCal years ago we used to have a restaraunt called Sambo's...if I remember correctly there was a picture of a little black kid with a tiger...

Isn't there a book with a little black kid called Sambo who fights lions/tigers or something? This would've been back in the 1800's......so it was probably a bedtime story for you right?
