Be careful... that is how we lost the header on our race bike. It was glowing read before the race. We thought it was because it was 20 degrees out. 2 laps into the race the pipe fell off. The extreme heat made the pipe become brittle.

I wish I had an answer for you. The bike has not been ridden since the race.

Set up a fan and set it on high in front I the bike, start the bike without the choke, if it does not start without you pulling the choke out, time to adjust the valve clearance. The glowing red should not happen if you have airflow to it but if you sit there and idle for too long it is going to glow. If still have issues rebuild the carb, if no luck with that consult Yamaha on the issue.

My bike exhaust was fine then i brought an after market exhaust and it is so hot it bouns grass on contact
