All Cal Poly DS ride is end of next month

Would like to, waiting on Palmer... Right now my deal is the drive, the idea of going out Sat afternoon sounds good but then there's the dreaded 250ish mile drive back Sunday night after a full day of riding.... I'm on thin ice as it is since I'm going on the day of my 29th anniversary... I got the nod, with no strings HOWEVER it WAS mentioned that maybe we could do something Saturday night.... AHHHHH SHizzzzzzlits.
But that Palmer dude started this thread:stirthepot::poke::smirk:

I am very interested in going. Several problems though...
275 miles ONE WAY to San Luis Obispo
$80 entry fee while i'm trying to pay off a $2K overhaul makes it difficult...
80 Mile range. Do they mean on road or off? Because it's close...
Does it have to be a CA plated bike? Or just plated in any state?

And I wouldn't think twice about hitting the teeter totter... Easy Peasy...

Regardless of state, as long as the bike is street legal, I think your okay. And the gas, entrance fee, food, and possible overnight accommodations would probably total $300. Which IMO isn't too bad for a fun weekend. If your worried about the 80 mile range, take a liter or two of fuel in your gear bag. And I know you'll try the teeter totter, but before you do let me :camera:. lol

From what I read and the videos I saw of the ride, 80 mile range is for both on road and off road riding. You can always carry an MSR fuel bottle on your person just in case, I might do that. CA plated I'm sure isn't required as I read people travel from out of state for this ride. There is a number for the coordinators on the registration form if you want to speak directly to them just to be certain.

Hmmm... $300 weekend doesn't look too bad. Maybe I can convince the little lady to come along and hang out in SLO and walk the shops. I'll have to see how everything else pans out...-BIG DAN

I figure $150 in gas, $50 in food and snacks and $100 for a night or two in a hotel/motel. But $300 can be a bit much especially since your dropping 2k already.

Ken, not sure if they are going to care about DOT tires, but the reg. form did say be prepared for a tech inspection. But who knows if that will actually happen.
