It's a kx250f. He has been in contact with Kawi HQ and last I heard they were replacing it.That's a YZ frame, with a known cracking issue.
YZ's from 2005-2007 all had cold welds.
There is no way you could start a cut with a saw(zall) without making one single scratch around the cut. The reason it's 'mushrooming' around the crack is because the frame was bending/banging together right there.
