both are built on an assembly line in a factory, both are held to extremely precise tolerances... an airplane engine does have 2 plugs per cylinder...
I'd max the rev limiter out on a 250f all day.
Just for shits and giggles-
A F1 engine is a far cry from a mxer engine...
pour example(I'm not looking up how to make accente aigu's on an English keyboard) F1 engines are built within such tight tolerances that in order to start them, they have to be fed warmed oil and coolant pre-startup(Tolerances are THAT tight). Plus they run on ethanol and have advanced fuel injection... making a p/w ratio I think that's higher than a dirt bike, which says allot considering they have to be over 1100 pounds wet weight WITH driver.
Take everything you know and put it in a bag, let the bag sit over night and when you look in the bag the next morning let me know if its still full of shit.
The modern day 4T is based off of F1 technology. old school 4Ts were slow to rev, the valves floated when over revved, the strokes were longer and so on and so forth......
Am I the one that's full of shit mike?
Short strokes have been around longer than modern F1, and as far as I know MX'ers still don't have hydraulic lifters... something that F1(and every modern car on the road...) has. 90's civics have more tech in them than modern mx bikes and I'm pretty sure, honda wasn't basing any of their designs on F1 engines(besides the s2000, which is sports car)
Ok got the oil report back.
The piston and rings are due to be replaced so I wouldn't be surprised if that's why there's traces of fuel in the oil. Or maybe that's just normal for dirt bikes. I plan on sending in another sample next year after the top end is broken in, we'll see what it says then.
Also looks like the stainless steel oil filter is doing it's job, insolubles are virtually nonexistent.
I'll probably go 6 hrs on the next oil change.

Not sure on the hours as I put the hour meter on later. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 50+ hours, everything is still original. I've just been adding 30 hrs, to what shows on the meter, for the lifetime hour number.
how many hours are on the piston?
the fact that its starting to shear out of grade in surprise on machine with a shared engine/transmission. I would not try for 8 hours though.
I just got my kit, will be testing the engine oil
5 samples at 10 hrs each (every other oil change) would take it to 50 hrs (another piston change). It would be cool to see how it changes over time (or if it even does).Nice. Now you need about 5-10 samples on a regular schedule and then I'd really like to see it. See how your engine progresses. -BIG DAN
