I still have hand pumps. I don't think you are going to like trying to set pressure with one. Well, maybe you have lots and lots of time and a really high frustration level, but I had better things to do, or I would have mentioned them. Using one to inflate a small tank, and then use that at the pressure you want to transfer air works fine though.

I wouldn't think it would take more than one or two pumps , not much volume in that small space , not that much pressure .
exactly. just try and hit a target poundage with your hand pump. fyi, been doing that since the 70's and never saw anyone try it that way for long. one exception and that was a pump that had a little chamber that stored air. then you can pump it up to a few pounds over your target. no matter what connector you use (quick release, or screw out etc) you lose too much when you disconnect. then you can get the sides to equalize. bored, lots of time on your hands? give it hell.
