It seems difficult to get a stabilised voltage unless using a battery or some super-capacitors. I have changed plans. I 'll use a small removable battery for powering up a control panel that features an hour meter, two temperature gauges and some temperature switches that trigger some alarms and can start a 10w fan.
This is not really something that is necessary to have, but I just like gauges and buttons.
The battery will be removable to reduce the risk of fire.
The hour-meter starts after powering up the panel but an automatic start/stop would be more convenient. That would require a custom circuit that is activated by the bike coil voltage.
No, I've built it, but it is inspired from aircraft instrument panels. The temperature alert even has an off/normal/test mode and a sound alarm that can be turned off.
