I use a flat stone hone.Whats a good honing tool? Decent price?
I don't have a drill press... Will a cordless drill work ?I use a flat stone hone.
Drill press set to 500-650 RPM and automatic transmission fluid poured slowly.
Cycle the hone up and down, while turning, in an even motion to create a crosshatch.
Do not over hone. Don't go too fast.

If you are extremely smooth and accurate with the speed, I suppose there is no difference.I don't have a drill press... Will a cordless drill work ?
I ll make it work... Thnx manIf you are extremely smooth and accurate with the speed, I suppose there is no difference.
The drill press just makes it easier because it is exact with the speed and depth of plunge.
Use a mid grit stone. Not coarse, not fine. -BIG DAN
