Random Dirt Bike Riding Videos/Pictures

Damn that sucks! Just getting back into it makes it even tougher. My son first ride back after acl was a massive smash. Hard to rebound and our families get hurt too, but they can’t or don’t ask us to quit. We love to ride and have to make that decision on our own. Your helmet comment sounds about right. EMT’s tried to cut my brand new boots off once, and I begged them not to, like I was sure I was going to need them again. Hang in there turtleman

Well, that didn't last long....

It sounds like you might be at the point that I was at a couple of years ago. Only, it sounds like you are having it harder than me. I started getting injured one time after another. I figured it was just a streak of bad luck. After I healed from each injury, I would just go back to riding the way I always had. After the last broken bone (leg) I finally realized that I can’t keep going on the same way that I always have. At some point I got old. My balance and reflexes aren’t what they used to be, and I definitely don’t bounce as good as I used to. I’ve backed off on the speed, and generally, just don’t push things like I used to. I still have fun but I just ride well within my limits.
Now, I really don’t mean to call you
“old”(even though I think we’re about the same age) and you might be able to keep on at full speed for many more years. This is only something to think about. Whenever you’re ready to get back on the bike again, I hope you can stay on it for a long, long time. :ride:

Funny thing is I was taking it "easy". On the hillclimb I just did (and didn't make), I laid the bike over instead of trying to get the very last bit of the hillclimb. I am playing it "easy" instead of letting the bike go like my "Avatar" picture. I have asked and haven't got the answer as to which side I laid the bike over on. I don't remember if it was the left side or the right side. If it was the right side, I could have laid it over and clipped a rock knocking the rear brake piece from the rear brake lever. Because my friend said on the downhill of the not make is where I went cartwheeling into the rocks and clipped my head. I don't recall any of that.

This is where I landed after not making this hill. Sketch artist rendering is not to scale :smirk:

 Yeah, I thought I was taking it easy to. I guess it’s just a different mindset that I’ve adopted. Sometimes I still go for it, and sometimes I don’t. Things have to feel just right.:busted:
I’m sure you’ll figure out something that works for you.:thumb:

Yea, I sold the 300 to my buddy who was with me and his 13yo son. Don't know who the bike is for, prolly the dad but he got it for "the son".

I think it's time to reassess my riding and do more of the Dual Sport stuff that the 501 is great for. I will continue to ride in all the areas but I will pick and choose the types of terrain/rides I go on. After 2+ weeks I am still dealing with short term memory loss. I'll ask my wife something and she will say "you already asked and I answered"....time to start thinking about a pen and paper when I am asking questions:thinking:.

I have all month to recuperate before I go back to work. I will see a specialists shortly to have some tests run so they have a comparison. I have another MRI scheduled in 4 weeks to see if the brain has healed and to what extent. It's not the same as muscle or bone damage, I can handle that. The ACL surgery was nothing compared to this.
