Would that be beneficial in a residential application?
You have WiFi at home right now? If it works for you now I wouldn't mess with it but if you're having issues (range, keeps dropping, etc) I'd get one of these.

I put one in my brothers house will at some point put one in mine.

If range is an issue I'd buy this one and then have it somewhere central in your house. The cool thing is that you don't need a separate power input at the device (it's powered via the ethernet cable) so you can mount it somewhere where there's no 120 close by. Just need to fish a cat 6 (or cat 5e) ethernet cable to it.
