Been working here the last few days.
Lanzas has been a mobster safe haven since 1904. Like holy ground, you can only argue about 2 things. Baseball and who’s mom made the best Sunday dinner. All grudges were left at the door and no business was conducted inside.
It closed last year and the new owners are having us do some punch list items and currently call it Joe and Pat’s
My crew and I got the 1st pies out of the oven. Old school thin crust. Light but filling with sweet sauce and top notch mozzarella.
Delicious.
If you are ever in NYC stop by and have a few slices. On 1st ave in the east Village between 10th and 11th st. Worth it and I’m an old school Italian brat.
