That's the sad truth about this Nation. Have you ever seen the amount of food each Military base throw's away each and everyday? Fort Benning Georgia could feed all the homeless on the eastern border I'm sure by itself. We would dump 55gal kettles of pasta and at least a half trailer of bread each and everyday. Not to mention the cake and deserts. I may have exaggerated a bit on the eastern border.
There is no reason why the homeless should be starving. I have seen this personally.

That's part of that whole budget they have to maintain. If they spend less, they get less. If they spend more they get more.

The budget is understood... but why not find someone to take care of the "leftovers"... I am sure people that volunteer at the shelters would gladly take care of it.
