That is the one you obviously are NOT letting out of the family. On the Springfield: I purchased two of the same model. After a simple polishing up of the ramp they feed good with anything. Hp or fmj (as the original design was intended for). Wilson magazines are not that spendy, and with them and the polish job you may never experience a misfeed. I haven't in about 3k rounds on the one I kept.
it never will, in the event I don't have kids I'll probably donated it to a museum when the time comes. I'm still yet to fire my .45, it snowedThat is the one you obviously are NOT letting out of the family. On the Springfield: I purchased two of the same model. I have the 7.62 version. Flat bottomed mag is the visual diff. A friend bought a crate of them and gave me one. Crate of ten sold for under 400 in the 80's. Sight gradient is different as well, but most won't catch that. I shot a lot of 303 through a worn out 30-40. It tightens the groups.next on my firearms wishlist
it and a springfield are high on my want list as far as historic (really my only interest in firearms is to have a set of significant through the major conflicts weapons) its my understanding you start getting into the gewhers and it starts getting pricy, p08's are not cheapI have the 7.62 version. Talk about shooting from the heart Snow St Valentines day 1911 and Hartford CTand here is a very special 1911
it is the 1911 that was issued to my great grandfather during ww1, he carried it through the largest u.s offensive of the war, the argonne, he was also awared the purple heart, at the time, he was 15. according to a trusted friend who has the right resources, this pistol dates to 1913.
There was a p08 artillerie for $14k on gun broker the other dayAny real German mauser is getting hard to find. Likely not to get easier or cheaper either.
