The what are you listening to thread

Dude he was 1/2 that band. Sure Gilmore/waters get all the credit, but the movement and overall feeling wouldn't have been the same without him.

We cant forget Nick Mason. Credit to all members is why I said 1/4 although the influence of keyboard etc. is heard in Wrights work throughout all the Pinks when they were together.

You gotta give drummers a little love right @Mihylo33 :smirk:

My first concert was Dark side in Los Angeles CA 33 rows back just right center stage in perfect view for a 14yo. Still have the .25c program, lost the ticket stub.

Very influential on my life as I was weened on Beatles, CCR, Blind Faith, Traffic, Stones, Canned Tuna, CSN and Y, and then their singles, that the members of all had moved into. Then of course Jethro Tull, Dave Mason, Jeff Beck, etc. etc.

Great band indeed. Listening to the Wright album link now, halfway through and it sure sounds like Floyd, without Davids kick ass touch and tone, and Nick Masons style. ..and Waters off-key screeching lol

I just found this gem. A real eye opener and not bad quality like others I have searched.

Don't think there will ever be a band like the Dead that encouraged taping their shows. And the amount of traded tapes is awesome. Cool thing about there shows was you could go to all three over a weekend, and never here the same song twice. Even in their whole run, no 2 shows had the same line up of songs over the years. That is what was what drew me to them more than any drugs (did love a good bud before mid 90's tho). Probably hit over 50 shows in CA, NV. I really still love to listen to some of the old stuff from these years of the 70's. Good stuff if you like it or not, real music IMO regardless of what that NJ pimp drummer says.

I remember we snuck in a dat recorder and some 9" directional booms into the Division Bell concert in San Diego. About 3/4 way through, security tried to take our tape we had thus far, but we managed to run, swap, trade, and get away. While the douche bags where chasing the recording, the equipment was packed up and went the other way. We got out safe and sound without being 86'ed for the rest of the show. Lost track of that buddy, and never got a copy of it.
