What did you do to your bike today?

Cool, you never wear it when we ride, just street riding? I just saw the Klim F4 today, now that I can see myself getting as its such a Big Bang for the buck and fits almost all purposes. Although it doesn't have a face shield it's nothing a quality pair of goggles can't fix.

Oh got another package in the mail today...going to wash my scooter today too as its being sitting dirty the last couple weeks. Three more items and I have everything I ordered.

Well, now that I don't have the Sumo, I still only use it for street. I don't think the shield is as good as goggles.

Nice new plastic, why?

Yea I read from others online too that they find themselves wearing MX helmets with goggles unless it's raining or in the winter. But for us here in SoCal, it can be 80 in winter so I guess the MX style helmet is the way to go.

I got a set of new plastics all around for the bike and factory graphics. Also got new tires, tubes, air filters, oil filter kit (fuel filters, oil filter, oil screen, o-rings etc.) and a minor performance upgrade  When my bro get's his new bike next month, mine will look new too :P:lol: In all reality, next week marks the one year anniversary of getting my bike. And I've learned more on this bike in the first few months on it then I did in nearly 2 years on the YZ250. I think you can attest to that since you've ridden with me with both bikes these last couple years and don't have to stop every 10yds from me tipping over :smirk: But as a result of all the learning and improving I did on this bike, it surely took its spills. Now I see why when I first bought the bike, some people said to take off the factory plastics and put on cheap ones as they are going to get ruined.

But today I went ahead and gave my scooter a wash. It is actually not as bad as I thought, so I might hang on to the goodies and give the plastics a few more rides. Here's a shot of today after the wash, the picture doesn't do the deep scratches and wear justice as I assure you it's a lot worse in person lol And as this is the "what did you do to your bike today" thread, I also gave my bike a ride around town utilized the plate. Sure felt good getting out there and stretching it's legs, even if it is only on pavement.

And coming from a guy that has the dealer do everything to his bike, (Even had em do the plastics, graphics, tightening of all loose bolts and sprocket changes on my YZ :smirk:) I'm stuck with a couple of huge boxes full of goodies that I'm scratching my head about installing. That's why I said I'm coming over!

Changing out the rear side panels also includes the air box. You have to dismantle the sub frame. It's a lot of fun. Good luck. Take Palmer a case of cold beer he's going to earn it.

:USA:

What is martin doing? New bike????

No need to bring beer to my place if you would like help at "No Charge", I would just enjoy the company and to catch up on things..

Johnrunner - take the parts to Palmer and let him supervise your efforts. I was having a conversion with Sweeper (Chopnwood) at the DS this last weekend. He was watching CDA Jr change wheels and do lite maintenance on the Rack Jr's bike and asked how JR knows how to do the work. Told him I coached him on rebuilding his bikes since he was on 85's. When I handed the kickstarter over to my YZ250 smoker years ago, I bought a complete top end and clutch and had him rebuild the bike from the ground up with me watching. He even unlaced and relaced new wheels.

It helps to work on your bike as you will now know your scooter which helps if something happens out on the trail.

oh yeah and New Plastic....
