Other 1993 Yamaha WR500 Teardown/Overhaul

Well... This has stalled out...

I am going crazy...

Expecting my suspension back anyday now. Excited about that. Almost have my money set aside for the parts I need to buy.

In the meanwhiles, I have been sanding and prepping my fairings and tank for decals. They have come along very nicely. I don't want to paint them, they are very white, but I need to protect them in some manner... Not sure what to do. :noidea:

And my bars cleaned up nice too

Looks great Dan!:thumb:
They used to make tank skins but I haven't seen them in years.... Some mind if silicone based coating will help protect the plastics.

The instructions say, "do not use a hammer!" So I used a kitchen table-vice.

Clipped in!

The online instructions said to ball up the wrapper after you remove it, to keep the pins in place. Cool trick.

Ziptyed until the swingarm kit arrives!
I assembled everything with really light grease until I get to the point of final installation. Then I will get crazy with it.

Thought there was an extra set of bushings/seals, but I realized it was for the swingarm mount for the linkage. Another thing I put away for when the swingarm bearings arrive.
