RM125 79 rm125 project

yeah thats weird.. i quoted something thats not even in this thread haha.. did you get your stuff?
All I need to get really is a plug wire. Haven't gone to grab it yet. I should be OK after that. I may just try and wrap the existing wire with electrical tape to see if that will help eliminate the arcing away from the plug and also help to see if that's the actual problem.

What exactly are your intentions with this bike? Side rebuild project? Actually use it as your primary bike? :noidea:

This will be a primary bike. I don't have another one. This is my first dirt bike. I didn't spend a penny to buy it. So its a good wrenching and riding experience for me. I'll buy a newer bike when I can afford it. That much I know for sure.

How much money are you planning on spending on this project?

IMO you'd be better off buying a 90's 125 for ~1k and at most drop another couple hundred in repairs.

Wow! No kidding! That's a deal I need to find.
hopefully my fiance likes it.. shes ridden my cr and, NOT surprisingly, doesn't think its a fun bike to ride haha.. if it comes to her needing something like a drz 125, which she wants after sitting on one yesterday , the rm will go up for sale. all relying on the kid not selling the bike to someone else this week, which is something that would happen to me :wallbash:

:ball wash: that's what I read every time you type that

Did you end up getting the bike?
its not next week yet  its still there though... I think its safe but I've been screwed before. a couple months ago, I was gonna but a husky cr 125 and the guy sold it without saying a word, an hour after getting off the phone with me saying I can come get it the next morning, luckily I called before leaving haha

I've got a question about the carburetor. How does the fuel feed into the Carb? Is it just a matter of gravity? I don't see any vacuum tubes that would pull the fuel into the jets. Or does it work as a venturi effect? I just want to understand the ins and outs of my bike. Share your wisdom with me :D
