Not really. Have you ever seen the intake ports on a 1972 4V Cleveland? You could park a fleet of smart cars in those things. 1973 was the clamp down year on emissions, the problem with the 70's, IMHO, is everything got so damn large and over sized.

Edit: yeah on the corked 73.

I agree, the other thing I find stupid is level of performance restrictions placed on cars in the GT Pro class, where cars are told they have to reduce horsepower or add weight to help keep the playing field even, I think thats bull. If the car meets the rules as far as engine size and what not, then it should be allowed to run to its potential, no matter how bad its competition is or isnt

That's done so the average guy can race a stock vehicle and still be competitive.

My oldest friend and business partners father went to a NASCAR race some 10-12 years ago as a local firehouse guest. He stated and I quote " those were the most ill behaved people I have ever seen in my entire life".

theres a guy I know here who goes to the phoenix race every year, he fits the hickscar and ill behaved person stereotypes quite well, me? I can think of much more cost effective ways to get super cheap beer.
