What do you have to gain by blowing your motor? Derek is/was on a privateer budget, can't afford that crap.

Jimmy was shooting a promo video with him when this happened. Don't remember where that video is posted at.

Being on a privateer budget he should have known by the rattle that it was done. (probably a timing chain)

If I were staging something like that I'd want it to be as violent as possible. However I'll go back to WHY would they do this?

I don't know, why would they start up a bike thats past its expiration date in the middle of a field with no jumps in sight and put it to the rev limiter?

Riders and camera guys aren't necessarily mechanics, heck I didn't hear anything wrong. :noidea:

If their intent was to blow the bike, why bother with the holeshot device?

I agree with james, I'm sure not gonna bust the case just for a you tube shot, or whatever they were doing. That adds a hellovalot extra $$$$ to the parts bill.

You now, watch the video with the sound off and watch the riders throttle hand. See how much throttle he gives it. He's bouncing off the rev limiter without twisting the throttle very much. Just an observation.

That's why I was asking you to analyze it... :smirk:

All I see that saying is that he has that device/throttle tube thingy that shortens the rotation aka less arm movement to rev.
