I raced one of my daughters today. She was in my Scion XD and I was in my other daughters 91 Camry. The scion blew my doors off and I used to race brackets as a kid at OCIR.
My mom's mazda (03 Protoge 5 2.0) is similar, its not really fast, especially compared to some of the shenanigans I used to help with (383 in an S10 anyone?) but it will still surprise you if you think you can just take its lunch money

Yah, it was funny, I was coming home from the smog station and my other daughter took my scion to the dentist. We by chance met at the main intersection to a long highway and I told her lets run um. It was kind of fun stomping my foot through the floor boards. :smirk:

You guys ever see a cheap way to make 434 cubes out of a small block chevy?
No......not unless you have access to your own machining equipment to grind the conrods, dont know which ones but are 4 of them that wont clear camshaft w/o this done, then you have balancing issues. and then there's special pistons (short skirt) that are required.... then hopefully you find the heads with 2" inch intake and 1.6" exhaust valves without buying reman....so by my standards not cheap. never built one of these but know some race guys that know guys..........

Sherrioff racing engines. I know where you can buy a Chevy 383 that has been dynode over 600hp. I think you could buy it for around 4,000. Unless I am able to sell it to you at the price I was given. Maybe.

Got to hold all that stuff and clearance a block for the H beam rods Sunday. 1800 for the balanced assembly at shop prices. Uses a 400 small block. Pistons I could build xr600's from. Seemed cheap to me. All internally balanced. Heads are easy :-)
