I have seen this same desert as far as Texas, the Mojave is 300 million acres alone.
The United States is mostly farmland and desert, I am happy to own multiple 10 acre lots of it's sweet sweet freedom. Here's a photo from one of my 10 acre lots in more central newberry springs.
To be honest, it's alot more than many people can claim to own outright. I feel blessed to have the mindset and ability to achieve the things I set out to do in the time of my life that is most vital.
The modern thinking of wasting your life until you're 60-65 is ridiculous to me.
Living on my own land in a home I built with my two hands, is the only forward progress available as far as I'm concerned. I'm also teaching my 34 year old wife how to fucking walk again, so I guess I live a special life.
