2 Stroke Vintage Mini Build (RM80)

We've had this 1985 RM80 in the family since 1986, and I'm hoping I can finish this bike in the next four weeks. The bike runs fine and I have already taken care of everything mechanical on it. I also rebuilt the forks already. The only thing I have not figured out yet is how to get some reproduction OEM decals for it. I have the paperwork, kickstand, fork guards, optional radiator louver accessory from Suzuki, and even the original bars. This will be a strictly OEM build unlike my KX250 build. If Big Dan or anyone knows of ideas for how to get replica graphics printed then I'm all ears. This bike is not going to be rode either, it will be nothing more than a garage queen since it will be 100% correct hopefully. Everything is original minus the tires, tubes, grips, and rear sprocket.

One site had a NOS rear fender, which I have been unable to find. I'm going to have to find somewhere to reproduce the graphics though.

I've actually found most of the parts I need so far. I've ordered everything and am working on having decals printed locally. Plastics cleaned up nice for the most part.

I only had about six hours to work on it today. I matched the paint on the frame and shot the kickstand today though after a good amount of sanding and cleaning. The bars are rattle canned and will be the only rattle canned part on the bike. I am waiting for another quart of paint to spray the frame now that i know what colors I need.

I'm still waiting on some parts and I've tore it down a little more. Disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the rear wheel as well today.

I'm disassembling the bike completely tonight and will post pics. I'm also going to town tomorrow pick up another quart of paint for the frame. Should be finished in the next two weeks once as long as everything gets here on time.

Took the "Full-Floater" rear end off, including the shock. I also got the motor out completely and did a few other things.

The engine is anodized so I won't be painting it or anything, I'll just give a good soap and water scrub.

I'll be cleaning all these parts tomorrow as well.

I'll be using my tumbler polisher to clean all of the original hardware at some point tomorrow hopefully too.

And that's about it for tonight, I'll get a lot done tomorrow as well.
