2 Stroke Vintage Mini Build (RM80)

I built a sand blasting cabinet, so my frame, swing arm and other bits were blasted, primed and painted with the closest match I could get.

Plastic was stripped with paint stripper, then scrubbed with a scourer and gumption then I polish up with vasoline and wipe clean. The 1 in the picture hasnt been finished just paint stripped.

I have just stripped the rear shock, cleaned and painted, I now need some details of oil quantity and pressures? Any help greatly appreciated.

I would also be very interested in decals when you get them made as I havent been able to find the correct 1's either, wicked tough have a set of 84 rm80 but not the 85, they offer a free set if you can provide some that they dont have in there current list. Might be an option for you I dont have any originals, otherwise thats what I would be doing.

It has wheels again:

Dismantled and cleaned rear shock, refilled with oil and bled to the best of my ability.
Dismantled and cleaned front forks, refilled with oil, found some specs that suggested an oil height of 100mm.
Still need to find some specs for front and rear fork/shock pressures if anyone can help?

All the little bits and pieces have been sand blasted, primed and painted, now just gotta put it all back together.

Any progress on decals for yours?

All done:

I am really happy with the end result, only things not original are the air filter (have the original just need to work out how to repair the rubber boot) and the kill switch; I went for an On/Off switch rather then a button for safety reasons.

Wish I could get the right decals for it.

Time for my lad to get it dirty :)

Thanks Paw Paw, I have found some for an 83 and 84 but not the correct 85.

I was really hoping the OP would get some made as his are in pretty good nick to start with; then I could have got them from the same place.
