Nope, just using the standard 2 AA batteries to power it.

Well, like Timo mentioned, I used to get the intermittent shut off due to the battery vibrations. That completely went away when I hard wired mine to the battery. It is a simple and cheap bit of insurance I would recommend.

Yepers! Doesn't mean we won't end up in Lake Tahoe but then again, I really like Lake Tahoe.

Hardwired but also putting a piece of foam on the inside has also worked for some from what I have read as well.

Yeah, I'll try that. I have a light that would do the same thing but I put some tape in the battery holster and it never happened again.

Well I put a piece of cloth material between a battery and the cap and went for a ride and it never turned off. So far so good.

Last I'd checked it said rain in the afternoon for Logroad tomorrow and AM clouds/PM sun for Redbud on Sunday. Should work out pretty good.
