What did you do to your bike today?

Stripped #5 down to give a more thorough cleaning.

Good thing I did, since I did not put this bike together myself, I found a few bolts coming loose and also plastic that was left on from the shipping.

Also noticed something was not right on my top triple clamp... I just could not put my finger on it...

 Aw they left these stickers off. I found them in my documents.

With the Mapping switch moved to the Advanced setting and these stickers now applied......:wow: There will be some serious roost coming off the back tire.

I was distracted though later in the day when putting #5 back together. My grandson paid us a visit and the girls left to go do girl things, so I threw little man in his pimp shirt and hat and cruised the neighborhood for some pit lizards...:smirk:

QUESTION... I've never used header tape before.. what are the pros and cons of it? I am considerign wrapping a part of the pipe that's right next to my leg... it gets really hot while doing the 1st/2nd (RACK) gear thing... :noidea:

That would be the reason to use it. I never used it before as well, but I never felt any heat coming off my pipe that required me to use it. Not sure what it does to the pipe over time and how fun it is to clean either. I know that I am not a fan of the looks, but that's just me.

Make a heat sheild out of SS and hose clamps. :thumb:

Thought of that too.... :thumb:
Palmer just like to use the words hose and clamps in the same sentence. He wasn't trying to be helpful. You might be able to manufacture something cheaper but E-line sells heat shield parts for various applications. I like to use various applications in the same sentence while also being helpful.

$100 for a guard from e-line... PLUS it has to be welded on. I'm leaning more towards a hose clamp (there I said it too) method!
