Rode my street bike up Azusa canyon and got into ANOTHER foul language tirade with a LEO. Mr. Officer, why did you just decide to close Azusa Canyon road? "Too many people". Oh, this isn't gonna be pretty
Azusa canyon has a river that runs down it that people go up to to play/bathe/whatever. It's also a nice ride up the canyon, along a ridgeline and eventually end up at Mt. Baldy.
Too many people I ask? Turn your bikes around right now!!! But officer, were just going to ride up the canyon and keep going along the ridge over to Mt Baldy. He turns back around and says, you want to get your bike towed? Oh, your gonna tow my fucking bike with me on it, that's just great! Your closing the fucking road because people are having fun? That's fucked up. He says, yes it is, now please turn your bike around. So we did.
We then decide to go up Glendora Mtn Rd which goes up the middle of the ridgeline. Right at the entrance to the canyon there is a caltrans sign. Road closed to to high fire danger. Riiiiiiight.
We then head on over and up Mountain Ave to the bottom of Mt. Baldy. Hmmmm, no fire danger there.
Well, at least we got out and rode. Some gorgeous houses on Siera Madre
