What did you do to your bike today?

typically for mx you want a firmer suspension, but being a beginner you don't want to have it too firm. If your just doing seals and oil the only decision you have to make is what weight of oil you want (this will adjust firmness somewhat). otherwise if your sending it out you don't really have to know, the suspension guys/bike shop should be able to get your info and build you a pretty good set up

shop seems like the only way ill get it near or close to stock and then adjust from there..and would u have hard then for grass track?? my problem with the forks is they just seem lazy to me if that makes sense..not very responsive..the shock seems very soft and springy even tho the top clicker is adjusted as hard as she goes and i tighted the spring..its just all over the place

Shock is probably blown out, its a KX thing. And the forks probably haven't been serviced in a long time. i don't think its a matter of someone messing with the factory settings

i hope the barings are ok..is there a tread here about suspension set up because i really have no clue..really suffered the weekend just had no confidence in the both forks and shock..im going to start again with ripping the forks and putting new seals and oil because the new (seal) i done never really sealed even tho the tubes seem good no marks or dints..and i think ill have to send away the shock..i don't even know what set up to look for anymore soft or hard so confused with um..id think soft..
typically a woods rider wants a soft slow suspension where as a MX rider wants a hard fast suspension. just tell the place you are sending your suspension off to what type riding you do, what you weigh and they should be able to get you close to what you need.

What Jax said is a good bit of info. I know I prefer to do my own work, as it is typically less expensive. But..... The first set of fork seals I did I re did them like 3 times before I got them installed with out damaging the seal lip or the wiper lip. So there is a little trial and error involved. As for your rear shock. That I would send off to have done. Ive seen it done before. But I dont have all the right tools to do the job. So I would send that out. But like Jax said it might be worth your while to just send them off have them get done correctly for your riding style and your weight. Then you can adjust them for your liking after youve installed them back on the bike and ridden.

I thought Jr. was riding a YZ Smoker?
I took it back after he wanted this 350 a couple years ago. I since sold it and my 450 for #5.

Who is ripping the quad in the background?
That is XT225's wife. If you remember, 225 tagged along with the crew on the DS ride back last summer. He brought his wife out so he could talk her into letting him buy a new 350DS. It worked, he only has to buy her a convertible 2 dr Mercedes first.

If you are talking about the little green one, well that is Gary's daughter Sam.

Tell jr he has a ball cap on that help with the sun if he just turns it around :smirk:
He runs the cap backwards to cover the scars on his neck from the sun plus he is still too cool to wear the hat the right way...:smirk:
