What did you do to your bike today?

Looked at it and wonder since I hadn't ridden it in since FOREVER, do I need to draing the gas.... if so, I am not familiar with the FI/fuel pump gizmo's... I'm guessing it's not like the hose from the petcock to the carb... I don't think there's that much in it... less than a gallon.

Please send your suggestions, recommendations and directions my way... I would appreciate it.

Like I said before you bash, I haven't done a fricken thing with it since the SLO DS ride of 2013...

EDIT: OR, do I leave the old and fill the tank with fresh ???

Did this recently since I had gas sit in my tank for a 2-3 months and my inline fuel filter got gunked up, causing a loss of high end power. Just go to your local auto parts store (Autozone, O'Reilly etc.) and purchase a cheap gas siphon/fluid transfer kit. (Mine cost around $10 I think). Also purchase a bottle of Seafoam Engine Treatment. It is good in helping clean engine of old deposits and cleans out fuel injectors. You should be able to buy both for around $20ish. Don't turn the bike on with that gas in the bike!

Stick one of the hoses inside of the tank and the other hose into where ever you want to dispose of the gas. Make sure to get it all, as some of the gas is harder to reach depending on where in the tank it sits. After that, pour some fresh high quality gas mixed with the correct ratio of seafoam into your tank (the ratio is clearly marked on the seafoam bottle). If you have an inline fuel filter, change that out too.

The entire process is fairly easy and only takes a few minutes. It worked for me and after I did that my engine was back to lifting up the front wheel and pulling hard like it did before. That's my advice, I'm not expert or mechanic but hope that information helps.

I hope you get back on the saddle and start enjoying the scooter again Rez! :ride:

oiled the air filter, fired right up with the correct plug, I'm going to buy a magnetic drain plug so I can see if there are shavings still appearing in the oil, haven't seen anything on the oil filter though.

On the KTM:
1)Removed the charcoal canister
2)Installed a coolant recovery tank in place of the canister
3)Replaced coolant with Engine Ice
4)Installed new silicone rad hoses (orange) that eliminated the thermostat
5)Installed new Cycra wraparound handguards
6) Installed new Sunline brake/clutch levers
7)Installed new Bolts axel blocks (cool setup)

WR:
1)Rode her over to my moms to fix a dish washer plumbing issue:cool:

It gets expensive staying home and not riding for a few weeks :busted:
