What did you do to your bike today?

Going back together today

New intakes and springs, piston rings, and timing chain. Came with a 14.5.1 JE that still looked good but the ring gap was .51 mm (.50 being mad tolerance) so I got a new set of rings.
Also ordered a stock piston kit to use next build and funny thing the new stock ring was perfect .18 gap whereas the new JE that came in is .30 spec being .15-.25
I wonder why that is.

We were gonna hit the track this morning but then the test runs on the CR80 yesterday didn't yield positive results, so I spent the time in the garage and finally got the Shadow running. I rode it around the block for the first time today, and didn't even lay it down (I'm slacking I know :thumb:).

Then I tuned up the truck cuz it was missing pretty good, that cost $70.00 bucks which is what I would have spent at the track so I called it a wash, then I changed the oil in the car, and thought hey those battery terminals look pretty gross so I decided to get the baking soda out and clean them, but when I put the 10mm wrench on the positive terminal and tried to crack it loose she broke. So I got a lot done, but now I need to put a new terminal end on the car, but easy peasy.
Also trimmed the trees in the front yard.

Going to go look at a couple new basket cases just posted on CL tomorrow. That whole need-to-have-something-to-fix syndrome (disease) again...

Wow! Thats awesome Dan.
It helps to get up in the altitude every now and then. It gives you a better perspective and lets you know how small you really are, at least IMO it does

Finished putting together Saturday.
Put new intake valves in without resurfacing seats. Didn't have any dye powder, but I sprayed some copper coat on the valve backside and pressed it in while still tacky and left a nice looking contact. Passed the solvent leak test so I decided to go with it. I think this new 4 valve design may go through some growing pains. Could be that the 3 lighter valves were easier on the face than the larger 2 valve. My '03 had much older valves in much better shape when I got it. I guess if the valve faces are the sacrificial component there I'm good with that, at least I don't have to send my head out. I'll know in about 30 hrs. I was worried the wrap around headpipe would be a pain but it's not. There's so much room to work everything is easier.
First impression, I love the motor! Just rode in the field by my house but it's strong. May have a new first choice machine. :ride:

Busy weekend:

Took #5 out on Sat for a 3 hr tour in the local hills, then washed, polished and prepped for the next adventure.
300 - Changed the power value spring out from the yellow to the red.. Added some swing arm guards, checked the tires, changed the tranny oil and wiped it down. Ready for next weekend's team race.
.5 (Tadpole's scooter) - Washed and polished. Added some injector oil, started and tuned it up. Ready for next weekend.
FreeRide - Washed and Polished, lowered the needle on the throttle one clip, setup suspension front and rear, adjusted the levers, cleaned the air cleaner.

Bikes are all ready for the next adventure.:ride:

I got sunburned Saturday at the track.
first day out with the '14 250f was very nice! Susp is already real close to what I like amd the motor is as expected. Over jumped quite a bit of what i usually clear, amd actually crashed once cause of that. Fortunately a bouncer not breaker. Got a ecu tuner and tinkered with it.. got more questions than answers out of that. Anybody have experience with these? Theories involving race fuel, timing advance, and high compression and high rpm have my head spinning
