I think despite suspension and other advancements either of those wr's would be a better choice for baja than a brand new wr

And my choice between those two would be the steel framed 04. It is so much more mechanically friendly then the 07. It also has a little bit stronger motor, I think basically because of all the smog crap that is on the newer aluminum framed model.

especially if one were to buy a clean one and then go through it thoroughly, easy to work on, nearly unkillable, deff ride able. You can find one in az thats got tags for around 2500-3k too

My 2004 that has at the most 10 hours on it, I got from Phoenix, dual sport kit and tags for three grand.

Brought home a '18 TE250i.
Haven't even had a chance to ride it.
5 minutes total run time, am glad the dealer wouldn't let anyone ride it besides the service manager to do a very quick assembly check.

Walked into the trailer to drool some more and realized I got it warmer in there than my house... and I'm OK with that..

Have never had a new dirt bike, anyone know if the suspension will drop after some use?

It shouldn’t. If it’s the right spring for your weight, just make sure you set the sag, and you’ll be good to go.
