Best money you will ever spend. Except for a vasectomy..... that's priceless.
Hey Fellas... I had a productive evening. My first task tonight was to remove the old chain guide and replace it with the TM Design model. Seems like a solid product..
I then cleaned the rear axle and swingarm really well where the axle goes through.
Next I moved on to the pipe. It's a bit dented generally looks shitty so I cleaned all the crap off it, wiped it down with acetone and painted it flat black high heat grill paint.

After
Next I moved onto the new flywheel cover and gasket. Then I did the counter shaft/drive axle seal and collar. Then I installed the front sprocket.
Next up was the rear wheel bearings. After I tightened up the spokes I closely investigated the bearings. I didn't notice any flat spots but they just didn't turn easily so I figured, what the hell.. Swap'em out. I used my blind bearing puller and MAPP gas torch. Bearings came out very, very easily. Before I started removing the bearings I put the new ALL BALLS bearings in the snow and let them chill until it was time to install.
When it came time to install I heated the hub with my torch again and ran outside, grabbed the bearings out of the snow, cut open the package and dropped them right in. I love when it happens like that. Oh the brake disc side has a ring clip that needs to be removed before you can get the bearing out.
Then the last thing I did was remove the bent clutch lever, put it in my vice and whack it straight with a dead blow hammer. Good as new.
I drop the suspension off tomorrow. Hopefully I'll pick it up early next week. Then I will be just about done. I'm not going to bother putting on the chain and rear wheel until I get the shock mounted. The last thing I will do is apply the new decals. [emoji1306][emoji1307][emoji100]
I think I would like one of the newer yz 125's. Carb mounting angle just says "ride me on my rear wheel", doesn't it?
That is similar to a set up I have. I have two large tanks I put under a shop trailer. I have a compressor on a gas engine that will fill it in time. I have about 200 gallons of air capacity. I use my truck compressor with it to get it up to 130 lbs quickly, valve the truck off and run the gas compressor. I can take an axle worth of wheels off either of my tandem axle trucks without the wrench slowing down. otherwise it is a 15 minute process to get the second side off.
