What did you do to your bike today?

I know a cheap one, not so sure how good they are.

After reading and researching, I discovered if I switch my triple assembly on my 2004 WR to a 06/07, I can do the YZ twin chamber forks. Ebay had a good looking 07 complete tree for $70, and there are a couple sets of forks, one will probably be mine for $150 tomorrow. Yes Virginia, next year is looking up.

I know you know your bikes Tim, but you do need to insure they are the twin chamber 07 (maybe 06) up. There are slight changes in caliper mount also to consider.

In 2006 YZ started using the twin Chambers. A 06 and 07 YZ Fork will interchange with the 07 and 08 WR. After that the calipers shrunk in size and mounting points are different. Luckily the 07 steering stem will interchange with my 2004. It is possible I might have to pick up a new caliper but that's a trade I'm willing to make. The forks on eBay are still sitting at $159. Auction ends tomorrow.

I am under the impression that the 04 triples will accept the later dual chamber SSS forks because the 04 was first year of 48mm forks. At least that is what has been beat to death in the 2 stroke forum.

I tried sliding my stock 07 WR forks in my 04, and it was a no go. I'm picking up a new top clamp for other reasons any way, but I needed the tree regardless, which has already shipped.

Got it in pieces to get the sand out. sand sand sand everywhere I don't know how you desert guys do it.
I had to shim one loose int valve and decided to put in new wheel bearings. One on the front was totally seized. I guess I should go faster next time :thumb:
