What did you do to your car/truck today?

Glow plugs are only $12. twice as many miles as a regular gas truck before oil changes I use mine as a daily driver but occasionally I do have to haul I have a trailer Im talkin a 30 foot super slide now do I need a diesel every day no but I bought two trucks I would have to pay insurance on two vehicles it makes no sense still cheaper to operate one diesel I get 15 miles to the gallon my boss is a 2013 Silverado gets 15 miles to the gallon what's the difference

That depends on the gasser, alot of the newer ones have no problem doing 8-10k per oil change with a quality oil and filter. On a truck with a hpop to feed the injectors I personally will not run one over 7500 miles, now on the Cummins that we have, I have no problem running them for a 15,000 mile oil change interval.

How much is the cost of a good synthetic oil? In the five years I owned truck with the 70k miles I'v put on it not one injector have I replaced. You Keep bringing up the cost of them but I'm not seeing that is a problem like you say. Can't figured the cost of an item as maintenance if you don't replace them like you say. I mean I can bring up the cost of a head you need to replace if you blow a head gasket and warp one but that don't mean shit if you have never had to change one on your truck. Just saying. I've owned every kind of truck and there is no comparison IMO. Say what you will but truck for truck there is no comparison. If it cost a little more it worth it period.

5 quarts of Mobil 1=$25
Just because you never did doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We have put several sets of injectors in our DT466's (both of which are sitting collecting dust due to major engine failures) uses the same style injector as your truck.) My Dad's 6.0 has had to have one set (still under 200k.) I certainly don't wish you truck problems, but from where we sit, which is road side service and what not, the gas trucks don't take as many peso's to operate vs. a diesel truck for minor roadside. But on the flip side of the coin, a gas engine in a business class truck (F650) isn't beneficial and all the trucks that move vehicles/heavy trailers from point A to point B are diesel.

Is that it? You guys are finished already?....by the way I wouldn't buy anything that runs on cat piss. That's just a funny quirk I have.
If only you realized how many 13/14/15 trucks we tow behind an 87 kenworth due to regen issues..... actually you might being a mechanic, I don't know what all you work on.

I know the powerstrokes melt down little cars behind them.... and just enough beyond that to stick mainly to gas and older diesel vehicles (work wise)

hopefully they're prius or similar. way to take one for the team ford.
I've said it before, but in general I'm a ford guy, but the last several ford diesels wouldn't be my pick if I was buying a diesel truck, about the only one I'd really trust would be a doge (new anyways)

What did you do to your car or truck today:
I got an a pissing match over gas and diesel with that but your goonbas on DBA. :picard:

Took daughters car in for a brake job and full inspection. Left axle smoked! Rotors, brakes, parts store sent wrong axle. Now I am sitting in the bed of my master mechanics truck waiting for a ride home. Good thing he is a riding buddy and Toyota mechanic. Would have to park a new car under the radiator cap if was a ford. :P

I drove my gay gasser 120 miles round trip to unlock somebodies car. Was a nice little morning cruise, got their in time to unlock it so that she still made it to work on time.
