What do you think of this bike for sale?

"If" the title "was" in "his/her" name, then a loss of title can be acquired from MVD.
Yeah I thought of that, but it's approx 150.00 additional cost.
There are a lot of bikes for sale without titles and they cant all be stolen. In the case of a bike like this it would only be ridden on a track, and wouldn't need any sort of registration.
I'll wait a couple weeks and if it's still for sale I contact him and see what he'll let it go for. Certainly not $500.00 though.

Wow, didn't know MVD charged that for new title. Especially when it only cost 4.95 a year to register, and 25.00 for the OHV sticker. Then there is the 5.00 bucks for a lost license plate. :wiggle:

Yep, and thats if you go to the MVD to do it. If you go to one of those 2nd party places its closer to 200.

That's a blown top end on a 250f. To do it right from top to bottom like it should be done will cost about $1900.
1400 if you can do the labor and the running around yourself.

If you were buying it to keep as a rider it would be worth it
I was considering that, but I wonder how it will compare to my YZ...

So check this out;
As you guys know, I've been looking for a 80-85cc 2-stroke for my son. He is out growing the xr100 quickly.
So I found this ad for a 2000 RM85;
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcy/5931429917.html
I've been texting the guy and he says he'll do a trade with my XR100 if I bring $150.00 into the deal.
What do you guys think of that deal?
I paid $400 for XR, stuck about 75 into it.
Both bikes book out within 20 dollars of each other...

I think you would be money ahead to fix the kx the right way. that rm is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO outdated. damper rod convnetionals an iron liner engine to boot.

I emailed/texted the KX guy but he hasn't responded. One of those post-an-ad-but-then-never-check-your-email/text kinda guys, or he sold it and is one of those post-an-ad-then-dont-take-it-down-when-sold kinda guys I guess. Whatever, it's all good.
The RM is being thought of as a quick, easy, inexpensive, transition bike. My boy has grown about 2 inches in the last week, and the RM sits higher and is more capable of jumping, and he likes jumping.

i missed something on the KX you were looking for a cylinder on then
No you didn't miss anything, it's still here. I'm just weighing options for getting the boy on something that rolls right now and gets him on the track this weekend, for as inexpensive as possible. I'm also considering just buying the RM from the guy outright as well, but that will be a month out or better.
