Wow, they are all so close!Who cares who has a longer stroke, can we just all agree that the 2012 KX250F is an animal?

Yeah they are for the most part, with the exception of the KTM 250 pealing off around 8k rpm and never rejoining the pack. That and the KX never signs off at the top, have to ride it like a 125. Which isn't particularly good though, unless you're a serious racer with a decent budget.Wow, they are all so close!

The yz doesn't have EFI yet right? EFI is the future, hope they don't get left behind.I'm going to have to agree with Dirt Bike's choice of a yz250f with a couple of mods
it never ceases to amaze me how a motor that still strongly resembles the first year model 10 years ago is competitive.
and on that note, it makes the weekend warriors that buy a new bike every year "to be competitive" even more perplexing to me

I like cutting edge tech and IMO that's what the KX is.

Yeah I can understand that, however Kawi is already on their 2nd year with the 250F EFI. While Yamaha hasn't even released one yet.it is, but at this point in the game I'm not going to make myself a guinea pig to new technology, I'll wait a couple years then buy an efi bike, and sometimes the last year of a model before a revamp is better than the untested new version.
Hey I need all the help/advantage I can get.Yeah, james needs the cutting edge
Im guessing that I(a crappy rider),would not feel a lack of power, or an advantage on any of them. From what I hear, with regular mx maintenance intervals, the crf can be the cheapest to raceYeah I can understand that, however Kawi is already on their 2nd year with the 250F EFI. That goes for most bikes, especially 4 strokes.Im guessing that I(a crappy rider),would not feel a lack of power, or an advantage on any of them. From what I hear, with regular mx maintenance intervals, the crf can be the cheapest to race
maybe not on a 250f, but they have efi on just about everything else 4 stroke, they'll release when they're confident in it... that or 450f sales pick up to make up for all the R&D they poured into itYeah I can understand that, however Kawi is already on their 2nd year with the 250F EFI. Well I think yamaha isn't going to EFI right now is because people like my dad are scared of the sound of it and I am to. Because if something goes wrong in a carburetor (or however you spell it.) it will be way cheaper than fixing the problem in a EFI. But if I had unlimited money (I'm sad to say this) but I would buy the kx250f or the sx250f and fix the freaking suspension. But sence I don't I would get the yz250f because it's known as a very durable brand and they trying to make it easier for the average person to maintain.
