:thumb: I'm an old Mo Fo and all I had was 2 strokes. Have one in the garage now that has V-Force 3 reeds in it. When you get older and think you can still ride fast, you learn real quick you can't and that is why I stay on the stand..:prof:

hahaha.... If i had gappy reeds what would it do... Im trying to cure a 1/4 throttle sputter... ... Would this have anything to do with it

Reeds are supposed to slam shut so on the up stroke of the piston, fuel/air mixture doesn't get pushed back through the reeds. They need to seal up. So yeah instead of all of your fuel/air mixture getting compressed to the top and getting the most of the bang, you loose some back out the reeds.

edit: plus it will cause unwanted fuel/air to leak in if they have a gap. Your piston down stroke sucks in the fuel/air and then it is supposed to slam shut if it doesn't shut more fuel leaks in and then you on your next piston stroke you get more fuel/air then your supposed to causing a rich condition witch will cause a sputtering condtion.

Ok... I was sorta reading up about it.. And i came to that conclusion... Should i just get the cheap ones.. Or go ahead and get the good chit

You can get Boyesen reeds not the Pro but the regular ones for about 30 bucks off ebay. I would just get those. And while your at it get a extra set but they need to be for at least an 01. If they don't fit. I think I know someone's bike they might work on
